Procrastination

I almost wasn't going to post today but then I figure this is a great way to procrastinate on some school work! :)

The past week has been nice and relaxing, which was needed! I didn't have any course work for school so I had   time to actually do things! Took the puppy to the vet for her 4 month appointment, and she ended up having Giardia...haha yucky but it's being taken care of and she is fine :) Andy had a long weekend so we had the change to do a few things fun things together, like shopping, going to see the Hunger Games and went out for drinks one night! It was actually our first time really going out for drinks together here, it's PRICEY to go out here so that's why we haven't. (for a beer and one mixed drink, it cost us $15!!!!!) It was fun though, good to get out and have a drink and people watch (which is fantastic down here on a Saturday night!).

In a few weeks we should be getting the list of possible places we'll be moving to in June. Still kinda hoping there's order for Chicago but we're keeping our options open as well! The Navy recently changed their policies and if there were international orders, we could consider those now too (before, we wouldn't have been able to because Andy isn't a high enough rate to take a wife overseas). I doubt we'll end up out of the country though, just need to see what comes in...who knows we could end up in Italy!

Also, my cooking is slowly but surely improving. I'll be making gourmet meals in no time! The weather here is FINALLY starting to look like it's going to warm up as well. It's been way too chilly and rainy for Southern Cali this year!

Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Happy Monday! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and a good St. Patty's day!
They love each other :) and I love them BOTH!
The past week here has been COLD (I don't think it's been above 60) and we've gotten a lot of rain. I'm ready for spring but I don't think San Diego is yet! It's still raining today, so another day cooped up inside. But, despite the horrible weather we've been having, the past week was filled with lots of fun family visits! My dad was here Mon-Wed and we had fun dining out, walking the beach, seeing all the Mexican stuff in old town and hanging out! We spent time hanging out with my grandparents, cousins and aunt/uncle at their rented vacation house too!

My mom and brother were then here Thurs-Sun. They got the worst of the weather, especially since it was 20 degrees warmer at home in Minnesota than it was for them here haha! But we still went out for yummy meals, hit up sea world, and checked out some of the nice surrounding towns! My mom even cooked some FABULOUS meals she has learned in her recent cooking class. It was a fun fun week, but we sure were tired last night :) Layla is missing all the attention too, she loved the extra visitors! (she is now pouting in her crate because I am ignoring her to write this!)
Sea World....Tommy ruining the picture as always!
Seals sunning themselves in La Jolla
It was sooooo windy and cold!
Attempt at a family picture w/ our crazy puppy....
I am technically on "spring break" this week, even though I'm still going to keep working on some course work to stay ahead. And there is a strong chance Andy will have Thurs & Fri off, which would be so nice! No big plans for this week, just getting caught up on housework, errands, and of course going to see the Hunger Games movie on Friday which I am ridiculously excited for (I'm such a nerd...) I also think I'll have time for lots and lots of yoga this week...finally! :)

Have a great week everyone!

Busy Busy!

Happy Monday to you all! Hope you had a restful weekend!

We have a BUSY week ahead of us! My aunt, uncle, 2 cousins, and grandparents are here for spring break so I'm hoping to get some time in with them all. Then my dad will be joining everyone today through Wednesday. Can't wait for him to meet Layla :) Then on Thursday, my mom and brother are coming and staying with us through Sunday! So much family and so excited! Just hoping to get all my coursework done so it doesn't interfere with playtime!

I don't have much to report, I promise you our lives aren't that exciting. We're just an old married couple ;) As newlyweds, we are being to learn that the little things in life DO still matter. We are trying to not get so caught up in work, school and life. It can be hard sometimes to just find time to spend together! Our little angel puppy makes it difficult sometimes since she commands so much attention :) We are also learning very quickly that while I'm not working, we need to watch our money closely. Most things to do around San Diego  can be pricey so most of our outings now consist of taking walks with the dog or running errands together!

I was thinking yesterday, I still cannot believe we are MARRIED! And it's almost been 6 months of marriage already, man oh man time flies. It still feels like a dream sometimes when I look over at Andy and can see my HUSBAND. And to think, our journey has just begun!

Thought I should add a picture (took it on one of our walks), It's the USS MIDWAY  Naval ship a few blocks from us and always  swarming with tourists! :)
Wellll that is all I have for you this week folks, hope you have a great week!

Busy Bee

Happy Monday to you all! Hope you all had a productive start to your week!

I don't have too much to report on the past week. It was a busy one, me starting classes and Andy working blood drives with looooong hours all week. Hoping this week is a bit less hectic since Andy is on nights! I am enjoying my online classes, but they sure are TONS of work. I really am spending a good 4-6hrs a day, 5 days a week and some on the weekend getting everything done for these two classes! Now I am realizing how maybe it's the right thing for me to be jobless at the moment, so I can get a good feel for online schooling. This way, when we move and I do get back into work, I'll be used to online course work! Funny how things work out...

Our angel dog is doing well! Her potty training is improving everyday and we've had no accidents for a week, and slowly but surely she is getting crate trained. She no longer has to sleep in our room at night and we were able to leave her at home for a bit yesterday and go for a motorcycle ride and run errands! She was a sick girl this morning, but after a trip to the vet, she's got some meds and is already back to her old self. (She has a parasite, that goes away with meds. Assuming she got it since she was rescued from Mexico.)

This upcoming week we will have lots of family in town so I am looking forward to that! I'm sorry this will be such a short post but I have so much more to get done before this day is over! I will leave you with this BEAUTIFULLY said facebook status I saw on facebook:

"Thank you God for showing up in my life in the form of Buddha, Shiva, Jesus, the wind blowing in the trees, a feeling, a knowing, a friend, my husband, my parents, my teacher, Yoga....it really doesnt matter, you've been with me all my life, for that I eternally grateful."

I am grateful and thankful for ALL that I have been blessed with in this life, and that quote sums it up so well!
Hope you all have a lovely week, and take some time to reflect on what YOU are grateful for in this life!
